'Thor: Ragnarok' Rumors: New God of Thunder Graces Asgard?

Marvel never gets short of giving fans ideas as to how the upcoming movies lined up will turn out, and recently, one of the hottest rumors that emerged regarding the plot of "Thor: Ragnarok" is that fans will have to bid Chris Hemsworth's Thor good-bye.

The rumor comes as a shocker to those who haven't read the comic books and how the colorful papers treated the original god of thunder. In the seventh issue of Marvel's "Original Sin," Thor lost his power toward the Mjolnir, giving fans the idea that a new Thor is at hand and may possibly be handed down to a woman.

Basically, the Mjolnir is available to anybody who holds the "right" to its power. This means anybody, even a woman, could be able to lift the hammer. One of the more common names rumored to be holding the weapon in the upcoming movie is Jane Foster. She is a good choice since she has helped Thor many times, shared a romance with him, and she is undoubtedly a premiere Asgard expert.

On the other hand, there is another name that some fans think is the best character to take the Mjolnir after Thor since she is someone very dear to the god of thunder's heart. She is also an experienced warrior, which makes her a more reasonable choice for the powerful weapon.

Details on the plot are very scarce as of now so fans and outlets, as well as comic book experts, are merely speculating on what the third "Thor" movie will have to offer.

Meanwhile, rumor has it that a new writer has been tapped by Marvel to take on the script of "Thor 3." The rumor says Stephany Folsom is in talks of polishing the script. This could be true since the MCU is known to acquire female writers to help with the script of movies in the lineup.

"Thor: Ragnarok" is slated for release on July 28, 2017.
