Thousands of Quakers expected to convene for 112th Northwest Yearly Meeting

112th annual Northwest Yearly Meeting will draw about 1,000 Quakers to attend thirty-nine workshops held from July 17 to 23.

“Becoming Incarnational Christians” is the theme for this year’s meeting with events such as worship, workshops, fellowship, and conducting church business. The workshops will cover topics from ‘peace education to missions to leadership development to quilting as a ministry.’

Coming from 66 evangelical Friends churches, the attendees will attend workshops with the keynote speaker, General Superintendent Colin Saxton, former pastor at North Valley Friends in Newberg, and Robert Mulholland, author of books “Invitation to a Journey,” and “Incarnating the Word.”
