Tia Mowry-Hardrict Explains Love for 'Controversial' Entertainers Lady Gaga, Rihanna

Tia Mowry-Hardrict, the Christian actress, is explaining why she is a fan of controversial entertainers like singers Lady Gaga and Rihanna.

Mowry-Hardrict, the star of Nick At Nite's "Instant Mom," recently spoke up about her affinity for the two singers with images that many have deemed as shocking or overly sexual. Mowry-Hardrict said her love for Lady Gaga stemmed from the singer's creativity.

"I'm a huge fan of Lady Gaga. I absolutely love her! I love her creativity and the way she reinvents herself every single year," she told DStv recently. "Every time her album comes out she has this cool creative process that goes into the album. I'm really loving her."

Mowry-Hardrict did not shy away from admitting how much she loved Rihanna either.

"I'm a huge Rihanna fan and I think why I love these [artists] is… both women can be controversial at times but in a way I think it shows that women are following the beat of their own drum," she told DStv. "They have a sense of confidence in themselves and they're leaders. I really do like that about these two women."

Tia's twin sister, Tamera Mowry-Housley, previously spoke about her love for Rihanna after her comments were taken out of context last summer. Mowry-Housley participated in an interview with Cocoa Fab, where she cautioned people against pursuing living together with a significant other before marriage.

In one of her six tips for marriage and motherhood, Rihanna was mentioned along with a quotation given by the Christian actress.

"Like my grandmother always said, dare to be different',' says Tamera. ".While it's popular these days to be the Rihanna to his Chris (okay, sans the abuse fiasco), consider being different from all of the overly sexy, turnt up girls," the Cocoa Fab article reads.

Mowry-Housley decided to take to Twitter to make it clear that she never mentioned Rihanna in her interview after blogs confused the actress' statements with those of the website which were not featured in quotation marks.

"I absolutely love @rihanna," she exclaimed on Twitter.
