Tiger Woods Latest News 2014: Pro Golfer Confirms He is Ready to Return After Injuries

Revered golfer Tiger Woods has revealed that he is healthy and ready to return to competitive golf after sustaining back injuries, which has kept him from playing in the PGA Tour since August. The 39-year old has said that his recovery has allowed him to ramp up his practice sessions and is hopeful about the outcome of the said sessions.

"I feel great. I feel really, really, good. It's great to be back out here competing again. I've missed it quite a bit," said Woods when asked about his physical health. "I'm excited that I have this much time off to obviously heal and get stronger and get my game in order for next year. I went through a period there for the last year, year and a half, where I didn't really practice that much."

Woods first underwent a back surgery in March 31 earlier this year, and then sustained another back injury in August. The golfer had also revealed in an interview that he is finally hitting as many balls as needed and is prepared to compete in the Hero World Challenge.

"I can finally log in the time, log in the minutes, and really delve into a good practice session and really get a lot out of it. And that's something that I hadn't been able to do in quite some time," Woods explained.

During his practice sessions, which he started last month, he was with Chris Como.

"Happy to have Chris Como consulting and working with me on my swing. I'm excited to be back competing," the pro golfer said at the time.

The Hero World Challenge, which is an annual tournament to raise funds for the Tiger Woods Foundation, is set to begin Thursday morning at Isleworth in Florida.
