Legendary wrestler who became famous for his Stone Cold Steve Austin character said he approves of Tim Tebow and his use of 3:16.
In the late 90s, Austin along with the Rock was the face of wrestling in the then WWF, and even coined his own catchphrase involving the iconic Bible verse, although he definitely misused it.
"Austin 3:16 says I just whooped your a**"
The mid 40s wrestler told TMZ, "Austin 3:16 still rules" and continued "If Tebow can throw for 316 yards again this weekend then hell, he can have the numbers and I'll have no problem with it."
He was so impressed by Tebow's performance and the big numbers that he wished the quarterback luck and said "I'm not a Denver fan but Tim's a great role model for kids."
"A guy named John was using it before me ... so if Tebow can do it again, more power to him!" Stone Cold told TMZ about relinquishing his famous monicker.
Austin wasn't the only person singing the praises of Tebow in the media.
WFan 660 NY morning show radio hosts of "Boomer and Carton," Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton, discussed Tebow's Jesus comments and the divinely evident coincidence of Tebow's game numbers yesterday.
"One of his biggest books or scriptures that he likes to read, and it's even under the eye black under his eyes is John 3:16," said Carton. "I'm not going to pretend to know what that passage is, but...how many yards did Tebow throw for yesterday?"
Boomer said, "316."
Carton, "How many yards did he average per throw?"
Boomer, "31.6...coincidence, we think not."
They then went on to play a clip of Tebow thanking Jesus and his teammates for the win.
Then the sports update announcer, Jerry Recco, agreed that Tebow should keep thanking Jesus at the end of games because it seems to be working.
Boomer then said, "Just remember God loves all."
