Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow has signed a multiyear deal with ESPN to come on as an analyst for the SEC Network, the network announced on Dec. 31, 2013.

Tim Tebow has a job. Today ESPN announced that the Heisman-winning Florida quarterback has signed on as a football analyst for the SEC Network - a new cable sports network that covers the NCAA's Southeastern Conference. He will mainly work for SEC Nation, a traveling pre-game show that kicks off August 28, 2014.

"I am so excited that ESPN has given me this incredible opportunity," said Tebow. "When I was six years old I fell in love with the game of football, and while I continue to pursue my dream of playing quarterback in the NFL, this is an amazing opportunity to be part of the unparalleled passion of college football and the SEC."

Tebow will make his ESPN debut providing analysis at the Jan. 6 BCS National Championship Game between Auburn and Florida State.

After being released by the New England Patriots before the start of the NFL season, many wondered where the popular quarterback and Christian personality would end up. In the midst of a losing season, Jacksonville Jaguars fans implored the team to try out the local native, who, despite some erratic play, led the Denver Broncos into the playoffs in the 2011 season. Reports also surfaced that a Canadian football team and the USA Rugby squad offered positions to Tebow.

According to ESPN, Tebow's work "will not preclude him from continuing to pursue playing opportunities in the NFL," so his dream of being an NFL quarterback is not necessarily over. If Jon Kitna can come back for a week, who knows what's possible?
