Tim Tebow RB: Jets Coach Says It's 'Possible'

Tim Tebow may see time at running back in Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, the New York Jets coach said Thursday.

Coach Rex Ryan said it's a "possibility" as many of the Jets are injured.

"The thing about Tim with him being a football player ... by playing quarterback, he knows all the positions. So can you plug him in at running back? Can you plug him in at tight end? I think the answer is yes," Ryan said.

A reporter had asked him if it would be possible to use Tebow if backup running backs Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight are not available. Powell has a shoulder injury and McKnight has an ankle one.

"Seems like everybody got one," the coach said, referring to injuries on his team.

On preparing for the upcoming game, he said, "There's a lot of tweaks ... when you're getting ready to play a new opponent even though we know New England they just do so many different things that it takes a little while to get used to."

Tebow, an outspoken Christian, is currently quarterback for the Jets. The 25-year-old played quarterback for the Denver Broncos last season.

So far, Tebow has carried the ball 18 times for 64 yards for the Jets. He has lined up at quarterback, tight end, wide receiver, fullback and running back this season, according to AP.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick called Tebow a "very strong" runner and a smart player who can "do a lot of different things."

"I would be ready for whatever I would be asked to do, absolutely," Tebow said Wednesday, AP reported.
