"You'd imagine how [Tebow] works. Works every day. He's hoping. There are some conversations about it. I don't know too much. There's hope and he says there's stuff going on," Meyer, who was Tebow's coach when the athlete attended the University of Florida, told CBS Sports in a recent interview.

Tebow and Meyer still remains close, as the two went on a family vacation together last year. Meyer is currently the head football coach for Ohio State.

Although Tebow currently has a contract with ESPN to serve as their new analyst for the SEC Network, the contract also reportedly includes an "out" clause that permits Tebow to leave his position if he were to be recruited by an NFL team.

Tebow did not play for the NFL in 2013 after being dropped from the roster of the New England Patriots. He also played for the New York Jets and the Denver Broncos after graduating from the University of Florida.

Tebow told reporters in January 2014 that although he is extremely grateful for his opportunity to work with ESPN, he is still prepared to play for NFL in the future. "I feel like I'm the best that I've ever been as a quarterback right now, and I hope I get the opportunity to show that," Tebow said. "But who knows what the next few months will hold?"

The former Florida Gators quarterback begins his official stint as a new ESPN college football analyst in August when Texas A&M opens the season against South Carolina. Tebow has said he hopes to carry his positive attitude into the world of football analysis by remaining courteous and objective.

"I would love to continue to be someone that is positive but also be someone that is objective," Tebow said in January.

"I have never had a hard time saying what I believe or standing up for something, and hopefully, I can continue to be that same person as an analyst and sharing what I believe about players, about teams, about games."
