'Timeless' Season 2 Spoilers: Rittenhouse's First Target Is Jiya?

The Rittenhouse will make sure that the time machine will stay with them no matter what in the next installment of "Timeless."

Fans of the series are looking forward to the fight between the mysterious organization and Team Time. Last season, Rittenhouse succeeded in stealing the time machine after a cunning operation to trick Flynn (Goran Višnjić). It was revealed that his partner, Emma (Annie Wersching), was actually a mole sent to betray the criminal. Spoilers indicate that Wyatt (Matt Lanter) and the others will team up with Flynn to stop Rittenhouse from their bid to take over the world.

Team Time must not underestimate the cult-like organization. Carol's (Susanna Thompson) people have already demonstrated that they would kill to get what they want and that they are also brilliant manipulators.

To stop Wyatt's team from causing problems, the Rittenhouse may devise a plan to take out the members one by one, and the most vulnerable ones are Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) and Jiya (Claudia Doumit), especially the latter. In the last finale, she lost consciousness and showed side effects from riding the time machine.

Jiya will then be defenseless, considering her condition. Since her boyfriend, Rufus, will be focused on bringing her back to health, he will also be an easy target. Without two of the members, Team Time will lack the manpower to take down a group as huge as the Rittenhouse.

Since Lucy (Abigail Spencer) is also compromised with her connection to the cult as a Preston, Wyatt cannot rely on her. He will only have Flynn, who might end up betraying him. He will be no match to Carol's group if this happens.

NBC has not yet released any updates about "Timeless" season 2, but the show is expected to return in 2018. According to CarterMatt, the series will likely premiere in April or May.
