Titanfall DLC Release Date, News: 3 New Maps in 'IMC Rising,' Details Revealed

Fans of the multi-awarded multiplayer FPS video game Titanfall will now see its third DLC pack which is named "IMC Rising," according to reports.

The official press release of Respawn Entertainment, the game's developer, said that there will be three new maps namely, "Backwater," "Zone 18," and "Sandtrap."

"Backwater," the first revealed, is "defined by its elevation changes. The rice paddies give Titans room to dash and duel in open fields, but gaining the high ground in the center of the map is often the superior tactical option."

"Meanwhile, Pilots can travel underground through grain storage facilities to escape Titans and move from hardpoint to hardpoint. The Pilot spaces were designed to be simple and compact, keeping the action fast and constant," the studio's website added.

Pilots can also make use of the ziplines to cross "no-man's land" from one building to the other. The so-called "no-man's land" is described as wide areas devoid of cover between two lines of combat.

It was also said that the concept for "Backwater" was actually based on some of the early concepts for Titanfall "that we never completed – the rice paddies."

The Epoch Times further said that "IMC Rising" DLC pack will be sold for $9.99.

"Gamers who have purchased the Titanfall Season Pass for $24.99 will get the DLC once it is out," the site added.

During the E3 2013 convention, Titanfall won over 60 awards including six record-breaking E3 Critics Awards and "Best Show" from several media outlets. It also garnered accolades from other prestigious game conventions like Gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show.

IGN cited in their report that Titanfall is considered a game that revolutionizes the first-person shooter genre but "did not agree as to whether the game delivered on its anticipation."
