  Tom Cruise is enjoying being back on top at the North American box office with Mission:Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

Tom Cruise recently spent a wild night out with New York City bar manager Cynthia Jorge and despite reports suggesting that she is the actor's new girlfriend, a source confirmed that they are just friends.

Cruise, whose divorce from Katie Holmes was finalized in July, recently enjoyed a night of dancing with Jorge, 26, at Manhattan hot spot Le Baron. Although the Beauty & Essex manager is said to be fond of the 50-year-old, they are not officially dating, according to People.

"Cynthia told me they went out for drinks and it was nothing but a casual night out. She said he's a nice guy," a source told People. "He's single and will be talking to women – all of whom he won't be instantly dating."

Although the pair are said to have a purely platonic relationship, it is understandable why critics may have made false assumptions. Several onlookers claim that the duo displayed intimate behavior throughout their night out.

"[Tom] was mesmerized by Cynthia. She had her hair in a bun, wore tight black pants and looked gorgeous," a witness to the salsa dance interlude told In Touch magazine.

"At one point, they began grinding together. It was straight out of 'Dirty Dancing.' Tom seemed to be in his own world, completely smitten," the source added.

Cruise, who was reportedly blindsided by Holmes' divorce filing, has kept a low profile since their sudden split. Despite being left heartbroken after ending his five-year marriage, the actor appears to be slowly re-entering the dating scene and he was recently linked to actress Cameron Diaz, 40.

The pair was reportedly seen enjoying a night out in London where Diaz celebrated her 40th birthday, however a rep for the actor confirmed that they have only ever been good friends.

"[Tom] and Cameron are friends only," Cruise's rep allegedly told GossipCop.com.
