News broke yesterday that rapper Too Short was dead, but the only problem is that he is still alive.
Word of Too Short’s death spread on Twitter and news outlets quickly, reporting a false rumor that the rapper died from an apparent heart attack early Tuesday.
TMZ said there were also several attempts to change the rapper's Wiki website to reflect his death. However, TMZ confirmed that Too Short is alive and well. The outlet also said they spoke with him on the phone.
Too Short assured fans that he is alive after false rumors of his death spread across the Internet.
"Are U serious? How did they say I died this time?" tweeted Too Short on Tuesday.
In the 1990s, Too Short was also rumored to have died, and news of his death spread quickly. It seems as if people are trying to bury the Oakland born hip-hop artists before his time.
In a series of Twitter posts, he tweeted: "Stop calling my phone. I'm not dead. Been in the lab working on my 19th album... Are u (sic) serious?”
Too Short’s real name is Todd Anthony Shaw, who debuted in the 1980s, and is best known for his hits “Blow The Whitsle” and “The Ghetto.” He has previously collaborated with artists like Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z and Lil Jon.
"Thanks for the calls, texts, emails & tweets. Its good to know yall got love for me. Retweet it & facebook post it. #2Short'sAlive," tweeted Too Short to his followers.
The humorous rapper, also known for his raunchy material, seems to have taken the news of his rumored death lightly.
He later tweeted: "I'm not dead, I'm just mackin."
