It has clearly been a tough first two games for the Blue Jays after a tough series against the Texas Rangers.

Winning the AL East meant the Blue Jays were heavily favoured in the playoffs but early struggles in the earlier round have shown a chink in their armor.

They were stretched by the Rangers and the series needed the deciding fifth game before Toronto won 6-3 to move on to the Championship Series.

Now facing even tougher competition, it seems the Blue Jays desperately need to regroup.

In the first game they were completely shut down by Kansas City as they lost 5-0.

Alex Gordon and Alcides Escobar scored in the third inning of the game, before Salvador Perez hit a home run in the fourth inning.

Escobar later scored his second run in the eighth inning to make it 4-0, before Ben Zobrist ran to home plate after a sacrifice fly by Kendrys Morales.

In the second game of the series it seemed that the Blue Jays had finally turned things around as they went up 3-0 at one point in the match.

Kevin Pillar opened the scoring in the third inning before a big sixth inning for the Blue Jays meant Josh Donaldson and Jose Bautista scored.

However, the game was far from over as the Royals put on an impressive seventh inning to score five times and take the game over.

Zobrist put the Royals on the board before Lorenzo Cain cut the lead to one run.

Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas and Alex Gordon then scored to give the Royals a 5-3 lead to end the inning.

Adding insult to injury, Hosmer scored again in the eighth inning for the final 6-3 scoreline.

For the Blue Jays, they should turn things around and hopefully, a trip back home will help them.
