"It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children," he added.

Morris further clarified to the publication that the new movie will take a different path and will stand alone from the series. He noted that "Toy Story 4" will certainly pick up from where the last series end up but it wouldn't be exactly a continuation.

"The third film ended in a beautiful way and completed a trilogy," he said. "This movie isn't part of the trilogy. It's a separate story and I don't know if it will be continued."

Pixar's Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter will be spearheading the upcoming film with the help of "Celeste & Jesse Forever" writers Rashida Jones and Will McCormack to write the screenplay.

"I think it will be a very good movie," he added.

"Toy Story 4" is slated to hit the theaters in June 16, 2017.

Before "Frozen," the 2010 "Toy Story 3" was the highest-grossing animated film of all time. The title also won two Oscars, one for Best Animated Feature and the other for Best Original Song award.
