'Transformers 4' Trailer Sweeps Internet, Mark Wahlberg Fights Decepticons (VIDEO)

"Transformers" fans are celebrating the release of the trailer for the fourth installment to the film franchise, "Age of Extinction," debuted during Sunday's Super Bowl.

Mark Wahlberg portrays Cade, an automobile mechanic who is forced to protect his teenage daughter from the Decepticons when he accidentally sets off a robot apocalypse in the latest film. The brand-new trailer offered the first glimpse of Wahlberg in Michael Bay's latest "Transformers 4," along with other additions-- Dinobots.

While the clip offered very little dialogue, the massive dinosaur-robots appear to be formidable as Optimus Prime rides them in the 36-second-long clip. The trailer is the latest development on the film; Bay had released a promotional photo back in October.

Meanwhile, the three previous "Transformers" films starred Shia LaBeouf, but Wahlberg stepped in for the fourth sequel.

"Mark is awesome," Bay previously explained of the upcoming film. The director-actor duo had already worked together on films such as "The Fighter" and "Pain and Gain."

"We had a blast working on 'Pain and Gain' and I'm so fired up to be back working with him," the director added. "An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers' legacy."

The first "Transformers' was released in 2007 and became the fifth most successful film of the year, and was nominated for an Academy Award. Then, in 2009, the film's sequel "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" was released and grossed even more than its predecessor. A third film, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" was released in 2011. Each film starred Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky.

Today, "Transformers: Age of Extinction" is set for release on June 27. The fourth sequel stars Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Raynor and "Hunger Games" actor Stanley Tucci.
