'Transformers 5' Official Title Revealed: Mark Wahlberg to Reprise Lead Role
"The Last Knight" will feature the return of Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), with a new lead named Izabella (Isabelo Moner).
Paramount Pictures finally announced the official title to the previously known fifth installment of the Transformers film franchise. The upcoming Michael Bay film will be called "Transformers: The Last Knight, and will be hitting the big screens in June of next year.
The official title came as quite a surprise for the franchise's followers, leading to speculations that the storyline might include the medieval times. "The Last Knight" will feature the return of Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), with a new lead named Izabella (Isabelo Moner).
According to Comingsoon, the film production will start next month in Detroit. But just like the previous installments, this one also will feature scenes from various parts of the world. In response to the news that some parts of the film will be shot in Detroit, the commissioner of the Michigan Film and Digital Media Office, Jenell Leonard, said that it provides a definite boost to the state's economy. "Having one of the highest profile film franchises in Michigan is a major economic boost and a testament to the talent of the state's production community," she added.

Director Michael Bay will be joined by a star-studded bunch of writers, including Matt Holloway and Art Marcum of Iron Man and Ken Nolan of Black Hawk Down. Producers of the upcoming film include Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo diBonaventura, and Don Murphy.
Per a Business Standard report, Paramount revealed back in February that after this film, two other sequels will be made a year after, which means fans should expect three new Transformers adventures in the next three years. The franchise has been a huge hit overall, collecting $3.7 billion from the four previous installments.
However, so far, there hasn't been any information as to the film's plot, except for the official title that seems to suggest a journey to the past, particularly in the medieval period. Proof of that speculation is the term "knight," which may indicate the existence of them bots in that period.
