Troy Davis Story: Kim Kardashian, P. Diddy Tweet to Halt Execution

With convicted murderer Troy Davis set to be executed on Wednesday evening, celebrities took to Twitter to show their support and use their power to help influence the Georgia Parole Board to rethink their clemency denial.

Kim Kardarshian released a series of tweets this morning showing her disgust over the possible execution. “I want to vent about the execution of Troy Davis! He is getting the death penalty tonight but I believe he is innocent!!! #TooMuchDoubt”

The socialite added “Everyone google Troy Davis & read his story! NO ONE should die by lethal injection when there is this much doubt! Help save #TroyDavis”

Record producer and mogul Russell Simmons tweeted “I'm not saying #troydavis is innocent. There is just #toomuchdoubt. We don't execute people w/ this much doubt.”

Simmons has also vowed to continue tweeting anyone with influence. Simmons added “I'm gonna call every media outlet from @bossip to @perezhilton to huff post to every celebrity and politician w/ a mouth.”

Hip Hop star P.Diddy is tweeting his support for Troy Davis by getting the Federal Government to intervene. He tweeted “Call! Attorney General Eric Holder at 202-353-1555 urge him to intercede on Troy Davis rt to the world and Call rt now!”

R&B singer John Legend wants his followers to sign a petition for Troy Davis. He tweeted Tell #Georgia to stop a grave miscarriage of justice. Save #TroyDavis from execution”

Golden Globe winner and actress Mia Farrow is taking a different approach to save Troy Davis from execution. She sent a tweet to the Georgia Prison Officials. “GA prison medical staff should (sic) stay home tomorrow. Grievous errors in case against #TroyDavis. #TooMuchDoubt for execution to be carried out”.

Big Boi from the Hip Hop group Outkast has vowed to take the support beyond twitter. He sent out a tweet this morning saying “We don't need a trending topic, we need boots on the ground, meet me in Jackson Georgia 40 miles outside Atlanta!!! #Troydavis.”

With the execution looming hours away, celebrities hope their millions of followers can help save Troy Davis.
