The seventh and final season of "True Blood" is still in production, but fans can already preview what is in store for them with spoilers available this week.
HBO's hit vampire series was inspired by Charlaine Harris' novels and takes place in Bon Temps, Louisiana. The series stars Anna Paquin as Sookie, Stephen Moyer as vampire Bill, and Sam Trammell in the role of Sam, among many other stars. However, according to reports online Thursday, a brand new character will be introduced to the cast on "True Blood" in season seven.
Known as "The Figure," the new character is described as "scary, hulking, ugly, mean and crafty… like Leatherface or Jason Voorhees, but this guy talks," according to a casting call acquired by TV Line. The description eludes to a new, especially evil villain coming to Bon Temps this year.
In addition to news of fresh danger in Bon Temps, "The Figure" is expected to be introduced straight away in season seven's premiere episode, entitled "Jesus Gonna Be Here." Notwithstanding, details are scarce on the new character.
Furthermore, reports this month indicated that "True Blood" season seven will see many twists, including major characters being killed off. Ryan Kwanten, who portrays Sookie's brother Ryan, warned "True Blood" fans that the last season would be full of surprises.
"People are going to be dying," the actor told Access Hollywood. "Some of your favorites are not going to last the season, unfortunately."
Meanwhile, little else is known about season seven of "True Blood," including its exact premiere date this summer. In a statement released last year, HBO president Michael Lombardo said that the series "has been nothing short of defining" for the network.
"Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show," he added.
