Beginning Oct. 29, International evangelist Morris Cerullo will host a one-hour, primetime TV special emphasizing on the importance of prayer before the presidential election in Nov. 2. The TV program, entitled “Save America Now” will run through Nov. 1 and appear on many stations including CBS, NBC, and ABC.

Christian leaders and musicians who are scheduled to appear on the program include Jerry Falwell, Ted Haggard, Kenneth Copeland, Cindy Jacobs, Keith Butler, Charles Stanley, Tommy Tenney, Jack Van Impe, Judy Jacobs, Eddie and Alice Smith, and Sandi Patty, reported on an article of Charismanews.com.

Cerullo explained that the Americans need guidance from God to take the right path when they are at a major crossroad, referring to the presidential election. Cerullo believes that “Save America Now” television special will guide Americans to call out to God asking for help to preserve the “divine traditions” that this country was built based upon.

Morris Cerullo is currently running a campaign aiming to protect America’s identity under the name of God. The TV program is part of this initiative. But why does America need to be saved? A description on Cerullo’s campaign website reads,“The heritage of America is undeniably Christian. Beginning with the first explorers and Pilgrims, The American Revolution, The Civil War, and throughout our history, religion had a strong positive influence on the successful development of America.”

It continues, “we are surrounded with recognition of religion's positive influence on our nation. Our National Anthem reflects our reliance on God; our money declares our trust in God; and our Pledge of Allegiance heralds our testimony to God's importance in this nation.”

Finally it concludes, “America is very much in need of our help and as Christians it is our duty to see that we do all that we can to restore God as the cornerstone as He was meant to be by our Founding Fathers. Their vision was not of a country stripped of His influence, but of a country that worked with the Him to preserve our morality and principles.”
