'Twin Peaks' Season 3 Cast News, Update: New Teaser Released; Peter Sarsgaard Joins The Cast Members' List

In the midst of the anticipation for the release of the new season of Showtime's hit TV series, "Twin Peaks," the network unveiled a teaser trailer. Meanwhile, another actor joins the growing cast's list of the rebooted show.

Citing the report over at Slashfilm.com, the rather short clip was taken from the original series wherein it showcased Michael J. Anderson's "Man From Another Place." Fans may remember the character as an inhabitant of the Black Lodge whose loyalty to Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) is a bit questionable.

According to the media outlet, it appears that series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost are still bent on dealing with the mystery surrounding the character in the new season although Anderson's involvement in the new series hasn't been confirmed yet.

Speaking of casts, a TVLine update said that "The Killing" star Peter Sarsgaard has reportedly entered the fray to take on a recurring role. There's no word yet on who his character will be but it's actually not that surprising knowing that no other new cast members like Amanda Seyfried, Balthazar Getty and Robert Knepper has shared or talked about their roles in the revival of the critically-acclaimed series.

The only confirmed detail in the project is the reprisal of MacLachlan of his iconic detective character.

Other than that, it has also been known that the third and highly-anticipated installment of the show will be directed entirely by Lynch himself.

Filming for the series is currently ongoing. A report from MyEverttNews.com claimed that a crew of around 100 people were seen filming for what appears to be the premiere of the Showtime programming. The site cited the city's official press release notifying the public, especially the residents living near the location, about the "dramatic screams" that will take place on a Friday evening.

Further details about the filming can be read through this link.

For the meantime, "Twin Peaks" Season 3 is slated to air in 2017. Stay tuned for more updates.
