Popular live streaming video platform Twitch has recently announced their new service called Twitch Prime. This brings a more premium experience at no cost—for Amazon Prime members.

Twitch Prime will bring exclusive features to enhance the viewing and gaming experience of all its subscribers. They will get free game loot every month, along with discounts on new boxed games that are sold by Amazon.

Aside from the game features mentioned above, Twitch Prime will also allow for a viewing experience free of advertisements. This service will also come with exclusive emotes, a chat badge, and a free subscription to one channel every 30 days.

Benefits for Streamers, Viewers, and Gamers

Twitch CEO Emmett Shear had said that Twitch Prime is one of the unique service offered anywhere that would benefit all of its customers, including the streamers, the viewers, and the game developers. Twitch, through Amazon Prime, would then offer a subscription service that saves money for the viewers while supporting the streamers in building their community.

The Twitch Prime service also benefits the gamers, as free games and game content are always welcome to gamers. This would in turn do good to the developers as they are able to reach a slew of new players. This new subscription package now truly ties in Amazon with Twitch after the former acquired the latter back in 2014.

The Twitch Prime service is currently available in different regions. These include US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. It is exclusive to the Amazon Prime membership, which costs $10.99 month and $99 annually for the US region.

What Happens to Twitch Turbo?

Those who have an existing Twitch Turbo subscription that do not want or need Amazon Prime can still stick to that service. This is a cheaper option at $9 per month. Also, those who want to avail any Twitch subscriptions that do not support Amazon Prime could still sign up for it.

Also, Twitch Turbo would not be available anymore for new subscribers in countries that support Amazon Prime. This means that those who subscribe to both Twitch Turbo and Amazon Prime can now drop their Twitch Turbo subscription to save money.
