Ubisoft Reveals Release Window for 'Rainbow Six Siege,' 'The Division' and A Surprise Title

Ubisoft, a French multinational firm that specializes in video game development and publishing, recently announced firmer release windows for several of its much-anticipated games and a still unannounced AAA title. The firm's investor report identified these games as the "key drivers" for Ubisoft in its coming fiscal year. The company's 2016 fiscal year ends in March 2016.

"Rainbow Six Siege," an upcoming first-person shoot video game is one of these games. This game was announced in June 2014 and has been in development ever since. It is considered to be a successor to Rainbow Six: Patriots, which was cancelled. According to its 2014 gameplay trailer, the game focuses on teamplay as a team who goes into a hostage rescue mission. It makes use of Ubisoft's AnvilNext game engine rather than the Unreal Engine. This game will be released within Quarter 3 of FY 2016 or sometime during the fall of this year.

The other game is much older, in terms of development. "Tom Clancy's The Division" was announced in June 2013. It is an upcoming open world third-person shooter role-playing video game with survival elements. Players are part of a classified unit of tactical agents who are tasked to combat the threat brought about by a pandemic outbreak and piece the city back together. The game's release has been delayed once already. But according to the report, it will be released within Quarter 4 of FY 2016, between January to March 2016.
