Jason "Mayhem" Miller, the former UFC/Strikeforce middleweight fighter has been found naked inside a church and arrested on suspicion of burglary Monday night in Orange County, California.

It was not immediately made clear why Miller, 31, broke into the church, but authorities said that he had caused extensive damaged inside Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo, Calif.

"When officers arrived they saw books and CDs thrown all over the place and broken picture frames on the floors," said spokesman Jim Amormino to ESPN. "Retardant from a fire extinguisher was sprayed along the church walls.

"Several of the church's windows were broken," he added, noting that the former UFC fighter was found naked on a couch. The window has since been boarded up, though Amormino could not confirm if Miller had entered the church through the windows or some other way.

"When they asked him his name he responded, 'Mayhem'," Amormino added to the Orange County Register. The fighter had apparently also set off fire extinguishers inside the church, but he was coherent and cooperated when he was arrested.

Miller's bail has been set at $20,000, and he was expected to be charged on Tuesday morning.

The UFC fighter holds a 28-9 with one no-contest record in the UFC, but was released in May after a loss to C.B. Dollaway. His career highlights include a fight for the vacant Strikeforce middleweight title in November 2009, which he lost by a unanimous decision to Jake Shields.

Miller also hosted a MTV show called "Bully Beatdown" where bullies are given the opportunity to take on MMA fighter for a money incentive.

Mission Hills Church was launched in October 1970 by Pastor Jim Folkers as commissioned by the Conservative Baptist Association.

"We are a church of ordinary, common people on a journey together to better understand, follow, and relate to God. Whether you have yet to attend a church, or you have investigated many, be assured that we would be thrilled to have you as our guest any Sunday morning," the church's welcome message reads.
