'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' DLC: Multiplayer Content for the Game Detailed

One week away from the release of "Uncharted 4," developer Naughty Dog shares details about post-release content that is arriving for the game especially when it comes to its multiplayer mode. According to a report in GameSpot, the biggest piece of news about the game's upcoming DLC is that it is all free for all players.

To progress through the game, players need to earn in-game currency called "Relics" which cannot be purchased with real cash and can only be earned through gameplay. This way, gamers who are more invested in the game will reap the most rewards. These Relics can be used to unlock the upcoming DLC, so the more Relics one has, the more DLC one can access.

According to a Tech Times report, Relics are needed to buy chests and there are two kinds in the game: the DLC Vanity Chest and the DLC Gameplay Chest. DLC will drop through these chests randomly, and the more one plays challenges and quests, the more rewards one gets.

Among the multiplayer modes that will be arriving for free in future are Ranked, Command, Team Deathmatch, Plunder, Warm-up Playlists and Trials. Ranked, for example ranks players according to the number of matches they win, where they will strive to "move up the ladder from Bronze III to Diamond I." Plunder on the other hand, is a mode where one needs to acquire an idol and return it to the treasure chest. The Tech Times report provides more details about all the multiplayer modes.

According to IGN, other content that players should expect are new maps, new weapons, and new vanity items, among others. There will be four DLC drops starting with the first one arriving in summer 2016.

When it comes to microtransactions, the game is expected to have some but according to GameSpot, these will only be for items that are "vanity and gameplay items." It also looks that a pay-to-win scheme is not going to happen for the game.

"Uncharted 4" is arriving exclusively for the Sony PlayStation 4 on May 10.
