'Under the Dome' Season 3 News, Update: Episode 10 Recap; DVR Ratings Hints Possible Renewal

Things got more intense as the third season of CBS' it supernatural drama TV series "Under the Dome" continued with an episode that saw an unlikely alliance between two opposing forces.

Spoiler reports for the episode titled "Legacy" had indicated that Big Jim (Dean Norris) and the rest of the Chester Millers who were not under the spell of Christine (Marg Helgenberger) would join forces with the Aktaion and ask for the assistance of its mysterious leader, Hektor Martin (Eriq La Salle) to bring down the therapist's evil regime. This did happen as the Aktaion rescued Jim and his crew from the kinship after the kinship attacked the funeral home where Jim's group was hiding. Hektor and Jim's group agreed to work together, in a way, because they had a common goal - to create a cure for the disease.

Big Jim and Julia (Rachelle Lefvre) had no choice but to suspend their doubts on the corporation who seeks ways to harness the energy of the dome. They believed that Hektor and his people hold a great deal of information about the Dome and its origin. This setup ignites the question of whether Jim and Julia are right in trusting the scheming Hektor. Is the Aktaion only using the people and their trust to further their investigation on the dome? That remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, Hunter (Max Ehrich) received a series of encrypted files. After some time, he is able to open the files and sees a video image of someone who they thought was dead but is alive - Lily's father.

Also hinted by the spoiler reports was that fans would finally find Barbie (Mike Vogel) joining the Resistance, or so it seems. Julia had successfully helped Barbie be released from Christine's spell. However, Hektor tells Julia that the disease might not be gone from Barbie yet - it may have just entered a dormant stage. Julia, of course, doesn't want to believe that. After seeing Eva and Barbie together, Julia changes her mind and thinks Barbie is a traitor.

On related news, an update from Carter Matt said that the network is currently not confirming a cancellation or renewal. Taking hints from live ratings, it appears that the Stephen King novel-based drama is doing a bit poorly. However, the publication cited TVbytheNumbers' recent report that the DVR ratings of the show is soaring from 1.0 (from the latter month) to 1.9 (in July).

Setting aside this confusion, "Under the Dome" Season 3 airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on CBS.
