'Unravel' Character 'Yarny' is E3 2015's Most Endearing Game Character (VIDEO)

EA recently introduced their new game, "Unravel," created by Coldwood Studios at an E3 press conference Monday. A new game character called Yarny stole the show when it was shown by the Swedish indie developer.

The puzzle platform game was presented by Coldwood's creative director, Martin Sahlin, who presented his own actual small scale model of the ball-of-yarn character called Yarny. Meanwhile its on-screen version embarked on a high resolution adventure across Northern Scandinavia on the big screen onstage.

Featuring sweeping music flowing through realistic nature scenes, "Unravel" distinguished itself from the other video games unveiled during the E3 for its non-violent themes presented in the middle of a physics-based nature-themed platform dominated by a memorable character in a plotline heavy on wonder and excitement.

"Unravel" presented its own demo gameplay with a ball of yarn that comes to life and goes on various adventures after rolling out of a basket.

Despite lacking any facial features besides bright golden button eyes, Yarny's character exhibits a wide range of emotions as he makes his way through lush gardens, forest floors, trees, underground caverns, streams, gravel roads, snow-covered valleys and farmlands.

As the playable character makes its way through various environments, players can use his yarn as grappling hooks, grab and drag objects, create bridges, scale fruit-laden trees, abseil down steep drops, and even to catapult up heights.

As Yarny's adventures commence, players will gradually discover clues about the game's storyline, which involves a baby in a photograph, a laughing boy with his father, and the father being dragged away by police.

Yarn balls placed at intervals in a map serve to replenish Yarny's little red body at points that play key roles in some of the game's puzzles. The main character's aim is to discover story of the long-lost family featured in the game while trying to piece the puzzle of their lives back together.

While no official release date for "Unravel" has yet been disclosed, it will soon be available for digital download on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
