Upcoming Blackberry Phones 2015: First Blackberry Phone Running on Android to Be Released Iin August?

A couple of years ago, who would have thought Blackberry would be able to make it past its financial woes and into the market once more? While the manufacturer has not been able to recapture its dominance in the enterprise market, it still has a loyal fan base in Asia, which makes it competitive in the entry-level and midrange groups.

However, this alleged new step from Blackberry might change its course for the better.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, the Canada-based manufacturer is planning to launch an Android-powered Blackberry device in the next couple of months, specifically in August.

A previous report claimed that the device will be named Venice, and would be announced in November. But a new source stated that the device codenamed Venice would not run Android at all.

Instead, the device manufacturer will introduce a new smartphone codenamed Prague, which would run on Android out of the box.

Blackberry devices running on Android is not new to some developers and power users who can tinker with their devices. However, if Blackberry does push through this plan, this could be a game changing move that could possibly help the company stay competitive in the long run.
