New Windows Phones 2015: Acer Preparing New Smartphone, Budget Price

While Acer has not been known to be a mobile phone manufacturer, it was able to develop a number of handsets over the previous years. However, the company may be trying to tread on new ground, if the latest rumors are to be believed.

In a new report by Phone Arena, it looks like the manufacturer is preparing a Windows Phone-operated handset by the time the Mobile World Congress kicks in next week.

In the report, the device will specifically run the latest Windows 10 OS for smartphones, which Microsoft has introduced earlier this year.

However, the report said that the Acer handset might not be released until during the summer; by that time where the Windows 10 system should be finished.

Expect this Windows-powered handset during the MWC event in Barcelona beginning March 1.

Interestingly, the manufacturer will also boast an Android-powered smartphone to take on the Android competition.

Dubbed as the Acer Liquid Jade S, the device is said to pack a midrange set of specifications. This means the device is also geared to be an affordable or mass market product.

Acer has been working on smartphones, tablets over the past years – adding to its staple computer products and accessories. However, it may be high time for the manufacturer to try out Microsoft's OS once more, and finally boast of a successful handset in terms of sales.

While all of these rumors are based on leaks and reports, readers should still take all of these details with a pinch of salt.
