Uppercut Games Reveals August Release for 'Submerged' (VIDEO)

Uppercut Games recently announced the late summer release dates for their upcoming adventure video game, "Submerged."

Third person combat free adventure game, "Submerged" has officially been scheduled for an early August outing, independent developer Uppercut Games announced.

Having previously released the hit post-apocalyptic combat titles "Epoch," its sequel "Epoch 2," and well-received Android snowball fight app "SnowJinks," Uppercut's "Submerged" presents a series of sweeping outdoor environments featuring a main character named Miku, a young girl who takes her wounded brother to safety on a small fishing boat.

The game challenges players to find hidden objects using Miku's telescope amidst flooded city streets, drowned buildings, and colorful habitats while identifying viable structures from which to obtain the supplies to survive, and piece together a story about a broken family trying to exist in a broken world.

Designed to have no failure states, players needn't worry about dying in the game as they explore the city at their own pace and interact with its mysterious inhabitants known as Remnants.

On the game's website, Uppercut assures fans navigating "Submerged" will present increasingly difficult challenges as the game progresses.

"Submerged" recently won for Best in Audio at the 2015 Freeplay Festival in Australia earlier this April, with a musical score composed by BAFTA-Award winning composer, Jeff Van Dyck.

Uppercut also released its announcement trailer featuring a vivid color palette with cell-shaded visuals in the bleak environment of a flooded city, with a vine-covered clock tower and a colossal half-submerged statue.

"Submerged" is due to be released on Aug. 4 on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 4 in the U.S., with Europe's PS4 release on Aug. 5, and Xbox One console availability scheduled for Aug. 7.

PlayStation Plus members are eligible for a limited time 20 percent discount from the game's launch date.
