'Vampire Diaries' season 7 news, cast, spoilers: Stefan will pursue sparks with Caroline
To say that season 7 of "Vampire Diaries" will be different this coming season is an understatement. Elena, portrayed by Nina Dobrev, is permanently out of the story as the actress felt that six seasons were enough for her character. However, the show chose to brave the path where the main character that the story all started to begin with is now gone. It will be a difficult void to fill in definitely, but it doesn't seem like the longtime-running series is backing down from the challenge.
According to spoilers circulating, the show is now taking this situation as an opportunity — an opportunity for other characters to step up. Without the one girl that both brothers have continuously pined for several seasons, the spot Dobrev left vacant gives chance for other love interests to be developed for both brothers, and this time, for different women. The most likely brother to find love first is Stefan, as he had already gotten a head start.
It is obvious that Stefan has already directed his romantic interest toward Caroline. Season 6 ended with Stefan trying to win Caroline over bit by bit, and apparently he will continue to do so in the upcoming season. Although hesitation rules Caroline, Stefan will be apparently be able to remove the doubts, and he'll do that just by being himself. According to TV Line, Wesley shared what can be expected from Stefan, "He's going to be sort of the same loving guy he's been for the past six seasons."

As for the progress of their relationship, he talks more about the reason why the progress hasn't been as fast as expected, "Caroline wants to be with Stefan, but she's also trying to do the right thing by herself, taking the time to mourn her mother's death so she can enter into this relationship with a clean state and a free mind," Wesley added. "The heart wants what it wants when it wants it, so we'll see moments where's she's struggling, wanting to say something but not knowing what to say."
Fans look forward to the developments in Stefan and Caroline's relationship, as well as if their chemistry will be able to live up to what Elena and Stefan had before. Season 7 of The Vampire Diaries will premiere on Oct. 8 on The CW.
