This fall, Big Idea Productions will introduce “VeggieTales: The Wonderful Wizard of Ha’s,” an all-new family adventure that retells the story of the prodigal son.

Written by VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer, ”Ha’s” is a classic Veggie-twist of the much-loved classic family film “The Wizard of Oz,” which reminds everyone there’s no place like home.

“Phil has written a funny, clever and moving story that will connect with families everywhere and encourage many with the concept of unconditional love and forgiveness,” says Terry Pefanis, Big Idea’s COO.

Through creative re-telling of one of the most recognized Bible stories of all time – the story of the prodigal son, “Ha’s” delivers a compelling lesson in understanding forgiveness.

“The biblical story of the prodigal son has a lesson every child needs to hear,” states Vischer. “The Wizard of Oz turned out to be the perfect framework to communicate that message in a really entertaining way.”

The story of “Ha’s” is about Darby, the son of a Kansas floss farmer, who just wants to have fun. When he learns about the Wonderful Land of Ha’s and its mysterious Wizard who makes dreams come true, Darby is determined to go – even against his father’s wishes.

Along the way to Ha’s, Darby meets a bored scarecrow, a tin man who wants to ride roller coasters, and a lion that craves cotton candy. Each with their own dreams, they join together and set off to see the Wizard.

In the end, the enchanting family adventure reminds kids everywhere that there’s nothing like forgiveness and there’s no place like home.

The DVD includes a new Silly-Song “Monkey” and a collection of family friendly bonus features, including Mr. Lunt singing “Over the Rainbow.”

The adventure reaches Christian stores on Oct. 6 and general market stores on Oct. 9.
