In the group, only the top four teams will qualify automatically for Brazil 2014, while the fifth placed team will have to go into a playoff to make it through to the World Cup next year.

Venezuela had started reasonably in their qualification campaign, but they have since fallen back out of the top four. They now sit three points behind fifth placed Uruguay with only a few games remaining, and they will need to go on a run of wins if they are to have any chance of qualifying. But their qualification is no longer in their own hands entirely.

They are coming off a disappointing 3-0 loss against Chile that has put them in a must-win situation.

With a loss, Venezuela would be eliminated with a draw between Uruguay and Colombia.

The situation is also far from good for Peru. They only have 14 points with only three games left, can only get a maximum of 23 points. A loss or draw coupled with a Uruguayan win would essentially eliminate the team from the World Cup next year.
