'Vikings' Season 3 News, Update: Premiere Title Announced, Succeeding Episodes Revealed

Things are getting more exciting on TV as the third season of the highly anticipated historical drama series from History Channel "Vikings" is now just five weeks away from airing it premiere episode.

Recent news about the show also indicated the first few titles of show. Citing Spoiler TV, a report from Enstarz.com revealed that the new King of Denmark, Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) will kick off the season in episode 3.01 titled "Mercenary." The bloody drama will then continue for episode 3.02 titled "The Wanderer." The following week will feature its third episode aptly called "Warrior's Fate."

Synopses for each of the first three episodes are yet to be revealed. However, a great deal of the plot details have already been known indicating that Ragnar and company will revisit Wessex, England first before embarking on a perilous expedition to tear down the rumored impenetrable walls of Paris.

Throughout the journey, the legendary warrior will also have to deal with some internal issues.

As revealed by series creator Michael Hirst on Yahoo! TV, he pointed out that the drama's key players will find themselves in a rather "bad place."

"Our leads start in a bad place," Hirst said. "They're in dysfunctional relationships of one kind or another and there's a lot of resolving to do."

A promo summary for season 3 was posted on TV Line and it reads:

"With the promise of new land from the English, Ragnar leads his people to an uncertain fate on the shores of Wessex. King Ecbert (Linus Roache) has made many promises and it remains to be seen if he will keep them. But ever the restless wanderer, Ragnar is searching for something more ... and he finds it in the mythical city of Paris. Rumored to be impenetrable to outside forces, Ragnar and his band of Norsemen must come together to break down its walls and cement the Vikings legend in history."

"Vikings" Season 3 will kick off its premiere episode on Feb. 19, at 10 p.m. on History Channel.
