'Vikings' Season 4 News and Updates: Bjorn Could Go Against His Father and Brothers; Cast, Release Date and What We Know So Far

"Vikings" closed its third season with Ragnar (Travis Femmel) on the verge of death. The king wants to be baptized before he finally met his fate in life. One of the things that he also want to do is reunite with his loyal friend in the afterlife.

His family and friends couldn't quite believe this admission from the king. However, as Ragnar's condition grew worse, it seemed that having to kill him will not be necessary.

While on his deathbed, Ragnar spoke with Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), his eldest son, on passing down the torch. He spoke with his son on leading with the head, not with the heart. However, before he finally passes down the throne to his son, he had one last favor, and it is something that needs to be kept in secret.

Bjorn actually kept his promise, but still, something slipped out from him, and he had informed others that Ragnar requested for a Christian burial. Count Odo (Owen Roe) agreed to this, and the warriors who will bring Ragnar's body will have to be unarmed.

Since it was agreed upon, the pallbearers went weaponless as they carried Ragnar into the city. Ragnar, on the other hand, was armed.

The finale episode ended with Ragnar gathering up his strength to inform Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) that he already is aware that he was the one behind Athelstan's murder.

This then gives viewers a lot of good reason to anticipate for the fourth season.

What to Expect

The wait for a fourth season may not be for long since the first part was released on Feb. 18, 2016. According to reports, the second part will be released later this year. It has also been reported that in "Vikings" season 4, Bjorn may go against his father and brothers. Furthermore, reports indicate that Bjorn might be jealous with Ivar the Boneless since he is well known to be Ragnar's favorite son.

"Vikings" season 4 will be back on History Channel. Four episodes were be added from the original 16 episodes. There are 20 episodes all in all, and the episodes were split into ten. This was not a surprise because the previous season was a success.

There were also other characters added to the series. Peter Franzen is to portray King Harold Finehair. Halfdan the Black will be played by Jasper Paakkonen, and Dianne Doan is Yidu.

"Vikings" is about an ongoing family saga among vikings during the Dark Ages.
