'Vikings' Season 5 Spoilers, News: Ragnar's Children Will Fall Apart

The fifth season of "Vikings" is well underway. While there is no release date announced for the upcoming installment yet, spoilers are already teasing that Ragnar's children will be split as they face different missions.

The latest "Vikings" season 5 spoilers suggest that the children of the great and fallen Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) will break up. Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) is on a mission on the Mediterranean while Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Ivar (Alex Høgh Anderson) and Hvitserk (Marco Ilso) will be left to handle the army.

It appears that Hvitserk, Ivar and Ubbe won't be seeing everything eye to eye in "Vikings" season 5. The brothers have different personalities and standards and these issues could come in between their rule over their fallen father's army.

It is further speculated that another major character death is at hand. The Seer (John Kavanagh) had prophesied that Ragnar will die; this time, the Seer predicted that Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) will die through the hands of Ragnar's sons. Rumor has it that Ivar will be the one to make the prophecy come true.

As fans know, Ivar has always wanted to avenge Aslaug's (Alyssa Sutherland) death. Lagertha is obviously the first person whom Ivar will hunt down as he seeks vengeance for his mother's death. Will the new Queen of Kattegat be killed in "Vikings" season 5?

Aside from Ivar's journey toward vengeance in "Vikings" season 5, there's the apparent tension that he has created among the Lothbrok siblings. The show's creator, Michael Hirst, revealed to Entertainment Weekly in January that Ivar's claims of being the true heir to Ragnar's throne will fuel a potential battle between the brothers in the near future.

"Because it's there now, it promises that in the future, when the act of revenge is finished, the stresses and strengths are going to come more out in the open ... We know they're gonna be at each other's throats," Hirst explained.

SBS One has yet to announce the official premiere date of "Vikings" season 5. Hirst confirmed earlier this year that he is completing writing for the last two episodes of the upcoming installment.
