Following a short break, fans are already excited as to how the mystery will further fold out in this week's upcoming episode named "Choices."

"We're learning a lot more about Pilcher [Toby Jones] and Pam [Melissa Leo] in this episode. We see the humanity behind the individuals," Thomas said.

This episode is slated to feature what was called a "super structure" which serves as a support base to Wayward Pines after the scientist confirmed that "humans were going to mutate over the next few hundred years."

Meanwhile, the show's riveting scenes and shocking developments have led many people to believe that it will be getting a second helping. This rumor was coincidentally teased by its executive producer M. Night Shyamalan.

"I don't know—I mean, I'm open to it. It's just I'm so happy that the format, in and of itself, seems to be working the way it was intended, the ten episodes. I can't speak for other limited series and all that stuff, but it's a beautiful thing that you can aim with intensity at a storytelling style that I think imbues it with some integrity and if that integrity then merits another story that's a wonderful thing," he told The Gazette.

For the meantime, "Wayward Pines" will be back on its usual Thursday 9/8c schedule on FOX with the episode titled "Choices."
