At the moment, West Ham find themselves sixth in the league and are only three points behind Manchester United who hold the final slot in the UEFA Europa League in the coming season.
A big win over Watford paired with a loss for United will see them jump to fifth place, where they will hopefully continue to improve to challenge the teams above them.
West Ham have not lost in their last eight league games which is an impressive run. However, that stretch includes five draws against other teams where they dropped points that could have given them a much better place in the table.
In their last four games, West Ham have found the goals to draw against Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Arsenal and Leicester City which is an impressive run; however they will look for maximum points when they battle Watford.
On the other hand, Watford are 12th in the league with 41 points and are simply trying to avoid reaching the drop zone.
At the moment, Sunderland have 30 points and are in the relegation zone, and with 15 points still left to play for Watford, they should avoid a complete collapse or risk dropping down.
Their form isn't impressive as they have only won once in their last seven league games. That win was in their last contest when they beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0.
In their earlier battle, Watford got a big home win over West Ham United and are trying to do the same in their away battle.
