Westboro Baptist Church, known for their infamous antics such as protesting at children's funerals or carrying signs reading "God hates fags," is making headlines once again. This time, it's about calling for a picket of actor Ryan Dunn’s funeral.
The so-called church’s press release on Monday reads "Ryan Dunn is in hell!"
The release was published hours after news broke on Dunn's fatal car crash. Westboro has called for a picket on "any public memorial/funeral held for Dunn, warning all not to make a mock of sin, & to fear & obey God."
Not only did the small church, made up of mainly Pastor Fred Phelps and his relatives, call Dunn an "arrogant ... sinner" and a “pervert” who “hawked porn-level filth," but they also underlined what they believe is God's judgment unto him. "In His wrath, God cut off this young man in the prime of his life, because he made a mock of sin and taught his fellow man to grievously sin against God!"
Dunn was one of two people killed in a high-speed car crash early Moday. The actor had an alcohol level over the legal limit for driving when his 2007 Porsche crashed into a wooded area in Pennsylvania and then burst into flames. Dunn was 34.
The MTV show star was famous for his dangerous stunts and out-of-the-ordinary pranks.
A private memorial was held for the actor on Wednesday in West Chester, Pa. A public funeral is scheduled for later this week.
Westboro, based in Topeka, Kansas, is reportedly sending some of its members to Pennsylvania in order to protest the funeral.
