What have you done to find God's answers to your problems?

Q: I don't mean to shock you, but I'm disappointed with God. I have a lot of financial problems, and if He loved me He'd be doing something about them. But nothing changes, so why should I think He cares? - C.D.

A: Let me ask you a question: What have you done to find God's answers to your problems? Have you honestly sought His wisdom to deal with them?

I don't know how you might answer my question, but I do know that people sometimes claim to be disappointed with God - but they make no effort to seek Him or find His answer to their problems. Instead of seeking His will, they expect Him to come to their aid without any effort on their part. They ignore Jesus' words: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find" (Matthew 7:7). Don't let this be true of you.

The most important thing I can tell you is that God does care about your problems - and the reason is because He loves you. How do I know this? I know it because His only Son was willing to give His life for you. If you have never trusted Christ for your salvation, don't sit back and wait for a better time to accept Him; it may never come.

Instead ask Him to come into your life today.

Then ask God to give you the wisdom to deal with your problems. Don't expect Him to make them suddenly vanish, but ask Him to show you practical ways to deal with them. Perhaps He wants to lead you to someone who can advise you. Perhaps He wants you to seek another job. God knows what steps you need to take. Seek His will - and do it.
