Easter 2017: When Are NYC School Holidays for Spring 2017?

Easter is almost here and so is spring break season. It is essential for students as well as tourists to know the approximate dates of the upcoming holidays in order to efficiently plan their recreational trips ahead.

Spring break is one of the busiest times of the year when it comes to traveling. This is the time when local students go out and have some fun in the sun, so tourists who are looking to visit the United States during this time are well advised to check out the spring break schedules in their chosen state and consider the pros and cons of traveling during this season.

On the other hand, public schools in New York will also be having their spring recess from April 10 to 18, which covers the Passover festivities as well as the scheduled Easter date this year.

The New York City's Department of Education may have already made this academic year's schedules available for parents and students to use, but not all schools in the state follow these schedules strictly. For example, some private schools will still be on break in the week following the Easter holidays, so it's best for local students to cross-reference these dates with the official ones set by their own schools.

Students who are on spring break engage in a variety of activities and should thus be mindful of their own safety and the safety of their group, if any, at all times. Whether it's a student who has lived and grown up in New York and knows the state like the back of their hand, or a tourist from another country or state who is visiting New York for the first time, doing a thorough research of the places that one plans to visit is crucial in staying safe for the entirety of the trip.
