Whitney Houston Daughter Bobbi Kristina Engaged to Adopted Brother?

The late Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, is reportedly engaged to her long term friend, Nick Gordon, although the couple may be trying to keep the news a secret.

Gordon, 22, is known as Bobbi Kristina's "adopted brother" as Houston took him in as a child, though the two are not biologically related, according to Star Magazine.

"Nick proposed to Krissy on March 10, and she said yes! Krissy said Nick is the only person she trusts in the world. They have a very deep connection," a source has said, according to Star.

While Houston never legally filed adoption papers, Gordon lived in Houston's $1.2 million Atlanta townhouse where he is currently living with Bobbi Kristina, and the pair reportedly refer to each other as "brother and "sister."

"Nick took care of Whitney and Kristina. He's always been extremely protective of Kristina," Gordon's grandmother Maxine Gordon has said, according to Star.

While many fans have taken to Twitter to express their excitement, despite the couple being yet to confirm the news, critics are beginning to question Gordon's intentions, with many growing suspicious of the sudden marriage proposal.

"Everyone is worried that Nick is looking to take advantage of Krissy," the source said, with reference to Bobbi Kristina's multimillion dollar inheritance.

The 19-year-old will inherit Houston's entire estate including money, furniture, clothing, personal effects, jewelry and cars, according to a 19-page court document obtained by Inside Edition.

What is estimated to be $10 million will be placed in a trust account for Bobbi Kristina to legally access in 2014 when she turns 21.

Houston's mother Cissy, 78, is the executor of the will; her brother Michael and sister-in-law Donna are the trustees, and Bobbi Kristina will receive one third of the fortune initially, one third when she turns 25 and the remaining balance when she is 30.

Some critics fear that marrying Gordon could jeopardize Bobbi Kristina's finances, as he would be granted legal access to everything unless they were to sign a prenuptial agreement, which some doubt she will do.

"[Bobbi's] taking prescription pills and saying things that make her family feel she's suicidal. Nick is getting her at her most vulnerable. If he really loved her, he'd back off the engagement and just be her friend," the source explained, according to Star.
