Tim Tebow News 2015: Why this journalist believes Tim Tebow is valuable not just in NFL

Tebow's dedication is more than just for the sport

In a recent op ed in the Orlando Sentinel, Mike Bianchi reasons out why he roots for Tim Tebow in the NFL. This is despite the number of setbacks Tebow has experienced as of late. His preseason performances were being criticized, wherein he is said to miss several big opportunities in the recent game of the Eagles against the Ravens. Eagles coach Chip Kelly would have to choose between Tebow and Matt Barkley, and the choice would have to be based on their performances.

Bianchi, however, emphasized not on Tebow's missed opportunities in the game. For him, Tebow's natural ability to emphatize with children with special needs makes him unique among other players. Many times during a game, once he sees special needs children, he runs to them with no hesitation.

Tebow's foundation has cared for over 2,000 children all over the world. In the Philippines, the Tebow Cure Hospital was built to provide proper health care to poor families. The foundation also helps parents adopt special needs children. His motivation is his belief, with the foundation's official mission being "To bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need." Tebow adds, "I believe we can inspire and be a light to people who have been abandoned or thrown away or neglected. That is where my heart is."

Bianchi is not alone in his admiration for Tebow. Mike Ditka, the legendary Bears coach and Hall of Famer, is quoted by CNSNews in saying that if he was still a coach, he would choose Tebow. For him, Tebow is not only good for football but also for the country. Dikta believes that character plays a huge role in a professional footballer. As a coach, he thinks that Kelly should be able to tap the talent that Tebow already has.
