Windows 10 Mobile Version Release Date: Update Launching November 2015

Windows 10 for mobile devices is scheduled for release in November, four months after being made available for PC.

With Microsoft's latest operating system currently accessible to desktop users today, news has emerged Windows 10 Mobile will be launched in November this year.

Anthony Doherty, Business Group head for Microsoft's Windows and Surface, has disclosed the November timeframe for Windows 10 Mobile, iAfrica.com writes, and depending on the circumstances, there may be a chance the new OS may arrive for mobile devices earlier or later than scheduled.

The November timetable may refer to the South African region, where Doherty is the Microsoft lead, and it may not pertain to the new operating system's US or global release. This being the case, users may anticipate the availability of Windows 10 Mobile in US and Western Europe much earlier.

Succeeding 2014's Windows Phone 8.1, the new OS for mobile is expected to synchronize content extensively, and integrate support between Windows and what is known as "universal apps," which developers need only to write once, but will be able to run across Windows on smartphones, tablets, PCs, and even Xbox consoles.

This "universal" application ecosystem will allow users to adapt software developed for Windows 10 on desktop, Android, and iOS.

Windows 10 Mobile will include a baked in Skype, and its OS-level incorporation into users' contacts and messaging.

Microsoft's own flagship smartphone with Windows 10 is also expected to be officially released later in the year.

Microsoft earlier confirmed it was planning to launch its upcoming flagship Windows phone to coincide with the release of Windows 10 Mobile.

With a November timeframe for the new operating system's mobile version, users may expect the company's flagship smartphone to be available by that time.
