The Redmond, WA-based giant tech firm added that more handsets will be able to participate in the Windows 10 preview in the near future.
GSMArena.com, who also picked up the news, wrote that this is just but an "earliest publicly available preview" which further suggests that users should expect unprecedented breakdowns, bugs, and other issues.
"This is still an early build and while there are many things that work great, there are also known bugs and things that just don't work quite right yet. Remember that you're seeing a work in progress, and a huge goal of the Windows Insider program is to work with a large community of people to provide feedback," Microsoft stated.
Some of the new features saw in the preview build include full-size background images on the start screen, seamless actions and interactive notifications.
The speech-to-text ability has also improved significantly. Moreover, users can easily access their local photos stored in OneDrive through the new and more powerful Photos app.
As for Cortana, the assistant will, for the meantime, limited to the U.S. and will only work with the English language. Microsoft however assured consumers that once the OS is finished, the Siri-competitor will be more capable than ever.
