'Winds of Winter' Release Date: Book May Get Finished By George R.R. Martin on Time

"The Winds of Winter" may still be not finished, but it looks like George R.R. Martin is right on track and might be able to finish the book on time.

Fans of "A Song of Ice and Fire" are expecting that George R.R. Martin's book "The Winds of Winter" will be done before HBO launches its new season in April. While some are becoming tense over the possibility that the TV series will overtake the sixth book, it is worth noting that Martin is known for his meticulous nature when it comes to writing novels, according to the International Design Times.

In an interview with HBO, Martin shared that he is aware of the pressure he is in right now. He added that he needs to hasten up or else the HBO series will catch up with him, the report relays.

"I am aware of the TV series moving along behind me like a giant locomotive," Martin told HBO. "And I know I need to lay the track more quickly, perhaps, because the locomotive is soon going to be bearing down on me."

Based on a chart released by The Washington Post, Martin's pace is relative to other writers of popular series and movies. In fact, the chart reveals that his output is at par with J.K. Rowling's and is even higher than that of other fantasy writers.

Martin estimates his final two books to have 1,500 manuscript pages or 1,150 paperback pages each. If his present writing pace continues, his last book "A Dream of Spring" will be released in 2023, the report predicts.

"The Winds of Winter" is expected to be released in 2017. While some fans are exasperated that George R.R. Martin is taking his time to lay out the perfect flow of the story, but he is right on schedule, so they do not need to worry.
