Winter Jam 2007 Sets Out to Rock Out

Winter Jam 2007, a tour boasting the presence of several high profile Christian rock groups, kicks off today in Johnson City, Tenn.

The concert tour will run around two months in length and is highly praised for its affordable rates which allow more Christian fans to see popular artists.

“Again this year, key to the success of Winter Jam in its’ history of sell-out concerts will be the $10 at the door admission price that puts the spectacular within the reach of the largest percentage of concertgoers,” noted Roy Morgan of Premier Productions to CMSpin.

Headlining the tour will be five-time Grammy winner artist Steven Curtis Chapman and Jeremy Camp – Dove Award’s male vocalist of the year for 2004 and 2005.

In addition to these award-winning headliners, special guest musical artists will include rising Christian rock groups Hawk Nelson and Sanctus Real and debut singer Britt Nicole. Other invitees are evangelist Tony Nolan, comedian and presidential impersonator John Morgan, and fire illusionist Andre the Hollywood Cowboy.

The entire tour will be hosted by Newsong, who launched the first multi-artist jam concert series in 1994. The series was ticketless then, and allowed thousands of people to hear inspiring music as well as the gospel. Newsong has 19 number one singles under their belt in addition to their many Dove Awards.

The concert aspires to set a standard for Christian concerts to follow.

“We anticipate the strength of this year’s billing and the addition of some key sponsoring partnerships will set a new benchmark for live Christian concert events in both attendance and quality of the presentation,” stated Morgan in CMSpin. “Winter Jam is an event with heart and an integrity to present a message of God in concert.”

33 dates are scheduled for the tour. It will mostly reach southern states with a few performances in the northern Midwest.
