Wiz Khalifa news 2015: Restrained in Los Angeles Airport for riding a hoverboard

Following Snoop Dog's run-in with European customs, it seems another rapper, Wiz Khalifa, has had the same trouble, but this time in Los Angeles Airport. However, this less-than-pleasant encounter has nothing to do with carrying too much money but more of because of a hoverboard.

LA Times reports that the rapper, whose real name is Cameron Jibril Thomas, was apparently going through LAX last August 22 when he was stopped by customs police officers and was asked to dismount his "hoverboard," which is a self-balancing, two-wheeled scooter, inspired and popularized from the 1980s sci-fi classic "Back to the Future," starring Michael J. Fox.

Wiz Khalifa posted a series of videos on his Twitter and Instagram of the incident. At some point in the videos, Khalifa is surrounded by at least four offices at the airport, in which one of them places a hand on the rapper's chest from letting him go any further. Khalifa then responds, "You can't do nothing anyway. Whatcha going to do? Put me in jail?" This is then followed soon afterward with the police officers slamming Khalifa down to the ground, as three of the officers hold his arms behind his back.

In the video, you can hear the officers telling Khalifa to "stop resisting" in which Khalifa calmly insists several times, "I am not resisting, sir, I'm not resisting." Customs and Border Protection spokesperson Jaime Ruiz refused to go further into details of the incident, but did clarify that Khalifa was not arrested and instead only restrained and released later on after he apologized.

He later emphasized that with the 25,000 travelers going through the said airport every day and distractions, such as hoverboards, can be dangerous. He is quoted saying in an email, "An unruly, disruptive passenger could create a chaotic situation, which could result in a vulnerability to our national security. Imagine there is a terrorist, or a fugitive waiting in line waiting for a distraction like this — it is really serious."

Later on, Khalifa took to his thoughts about the incident to Twitter, saying, "All because I didn't want to ditch the technogy [sic] everyone will be using in the next 6 months. Do what you want kids." He further adds, "I stand for our generation and our generation is gonna be riding hoverboards so if you don't like it eat a d*ck!"
