'Wolverine 3' to follow the 'Old Man Logan' story arc?

During last month's San Diego Comic-Con 2015, Fox's presentation in Hall H had a massive crowd to hear what Hugh Jackman would say about his last outing as "Wolverine". He said, "I've got three words for you guys: Old Man Logan. Take from that what you will." Next came a screening of the actor's first audition for X-Men that took place 16 years ago. Looking on at his own audition, Jackman said that he had indeed aged quite a bit since then.

Does this mean that "Wolverine 3" would have the story arc of "Old Man Logan"?

Mark Millar had written the very first story of "Old Man Logan" and the comic illustration was by Steve McNiven. Old Man Logan now lives in a bleak world populated with bad guys like his land lords, Hulk and She-Hulk's cruel grandchildren, King Pin, Red Skull and many others.

As usual, Logan is broke and so takes up a job to deliver a parcel to a land now infested by villains who have taken over after the X-Men were killed off. He teams up with Hawkeye now gone blind. The story follows the adventures of these two and brings a conclusion to the 'Wolverine" saga.

It is possible that this may be the story of "Wolverine 3" as Hugh Jackman has emphatically declared, "As I promised, this next time is my last time putting on the claws, it's one last time."

Director James Mangold and actor Patrick Stewart have both hinted at "Wolverine" turning into "old Man Logan". In fact, Mangold said that he is taking inspiration from the Wolverine comic book story lines, including "Old Man Logan."

Patrick Stewart joked about Hugh Jackman looking old on screen. He said, "The idea of an old Wolverine – I'm really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old. You know, damn him. He looks so great! So I'm hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he'll make me look better if that's the case."
