'Wonder Woman' News, Cast, Spoilers: Is Chris Pine Playing Steve Trevor and His Grandfather?
DC is headed for big things in the following years. Trying to follow in the footsteps of Marvel, DC Entertainment, alongside Warner Bros., will be kicking off the foundation of its cinematic univers with the much-awaited "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." This will be followed months later by the anti-hero group film "Suicide Squad." Both films have already wrapped up with filming, and so it makes sense why the studios are now focusing on the next movies in line, specifically "Wonder Woman" featuring Gal Gadot.
By now, everyone knows that the film will be featuring Chris Pine, as well as Gal Gadot's love interest, Steve Trevor. Recently, ComicZeroes tweeted a picture of Pine on the set of "Wonder Woman" where he is seen wearing something that would be similar to a World War I costume. It was previously confirmed that the movie will feature a setting during this era, as Wonder Woman will be introduced to the world during this time. What has caused confusion, though, are reports that Pine was supposed to be a modern-day Steve Trevor, and so many have been wondering what his costume means and if another love interest is going to come later on.
However, according to a rumor reported by Heroic Hollywood, it may be possible that Pine will be playing two characters in the film. First would be Steve Trevor's grandfather who lived in World War I and helps Diana/Wonder Woman defeat Ares. The second character would none other be Steve Trevor himself. It is supected that Diana will cross paths once more with a descendant of Grandfather Trevor in the modern day, and Steve looks exactly like his grandfather. He will perhaps play another key part in defeating Ares once more.

As of now, there is no confirmation to this yet as it is just a theory that seems to be the most possible explanation. Fans await more news before the movie "Wonder Woman" hits theaters on June 23, 2017.
