'World of Warcraft: Legion' Expansion Pack Gives Players Visual Upgrades and New Hunter Class

"World of Warcraft: Legion's" expansion pack has many offerings but first among those are its significant visual upgrade and a new hunter class for the gnomes in Azeroth.

Gnome hunters and mecha-minions

In an update over at Battle.net, Blizzard Entertainment announced that gnomes will now be able to become a big game hunter.

The outfitting for battle will be a result of some as yet unknown events that will happen on the Broken Shore. High Tinker Mekkatorque will command his people to get ready for battle in "any way they know how."

The inventive although small statured gnomes of Azeroth are going to bring out the big guns. These will include high-powered rifles, rocket launchers, death rays, and other high-tech weapons that go "bang." This leaning toward cutting-edge technology makes them great candidates as hunters.

Coming with this new classification is a new Hunter pet family (mechanical, of course), with the Giant Mechanical Rabbit as the gnomes starting pet. These mecha-minions are hard-to-find, but once found, gnomes and goblins will be able to tame them right at the get-go. Other races will be able to control these new Hunter pets using a device.

These mechanical pets will need mechanical bits like a handful of copper bolts to be "happy" and "healthy."

Sneak peek at the upcoming visual upgrade

Polygon has spotted some screenshots revealing just how much improvement the visual aspect of "World of Warcraft: Legion" will be getting.

User Kastel197 uploaded the screenshots over at Reddit. Looking at the images taken from the game's current alpha in comparison with the older game version, it is evident that Blizzard will significantly increase the draw distances. This simply means players will be able to see much farther in "World of Warcraft: Legion" than they have been used to.

Other expected upgrades include new zones, quests, and the like. As mentioned, "World of Warcraft: Legion" is currently in its alpha testing phase, which will be followed by a wider beta test scheduled later this year. The final version of the game is set to release in the summer of next year.
